Remote HSE Manager

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Remote HSE Manager to lead their Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives across all operations. This is a critical, fully remote position based out of Pretoria, requiring a strategic thinker who can implement and enforce robust HSE policies and procedures virtually. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and promoting sustainable practices throughout the organization. This role is key to safeguarding our employees, the public, and the environment in the fast-paced Oil & Gas industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage the company's comprehensive HSE management system.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for potential hazards.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with national and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs to all levels of staff.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement and communication initiatives.
• Manage environmental impact assessments and remediation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in HSE management, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and best practices.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing effective HSE policies and procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proficiency in using HSE management software and digital tools for remote monitoring and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
