About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Employee Relations Specialist to join their team in Soweto . This crucial role focuses on fostering a positive and productive work environment by managing employee relations, resolving workplace disputes, and ensuring adherence to HR policies and labor laws. The ideal candidate will possess strong investigative, mediation, and communication skills, with a deep understanding of South African employment legislation. You will act as a trusted advisor to employees and management, promoting fair practices and a culture of respect and open communication. This position is vital for maintaining harmonious industrial relations and supporting the overall well-being and productivity of the workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve employee grievances, disciplinary issues, and workplace conflicts.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters.
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures across the organization.
- Conduct training sessions for managers and employees on HR policies and best practices.
- Advise on and manage compliance with all relevant South African labor laws.
- Develop and implement proactive strategies to enhance employee engagement and morale.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience specifically in employee relations.
- In-depth knowledge of South African labor law and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with utmost discretion.
