About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Corporate Paralegal to join their dynamic legal team in Johannesburg . This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive support in a wide range of corporate legal matters, from complex transactions to day-to-day compliance. You will work closely with senior lawyers, management, and external counsel, ensuring all legal documentation and processes are meticulously managed. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the drafting, review, and filing of corporate legal documents, including contracts, resolutions, and shareholder agreements.
- Manage corporate minute books, statutory registers, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research on various corporate and commercial law matters, summarizing findings for legal counsel.
- Support the legal team during mergers, acquisitions, and other significant corporate transactions.
- Coordinate with external counsel and regulatory bodies as needed, managing communication and document flow.
Requirements
- A relevant paralegal qualification or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Corporate Paralegal , preferably within a corporate legal department or law firm.
- Strong understanding of South African corporate law and company secretarial practices.
- Proficiency in legal research databases and MS Office Suite .
- Exceptional organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure.
