About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Civil Engineer to join their team in Mahikeng, North West . This role provides an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to gain broad experience across both site supervision and design activities. You will assist senior engineers in the planning, design, and execution of various civil engineering projects, contributing to the development of local infrastructure. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, possesses strong foundational engineering knowledge, and demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards gaining practical experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers in the design of civil infrastructure components, including roads, drainage, and site development.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with the supervision of construction activities.
- Perform basic structural and hydraulic calculations under guidance.
- Prepare technical drawings, reports, and documentation using relevant software.
- Support the project team in ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve technical issues and contribute to project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Completed or in progress of obtaining professional registration with ECSA (e.g., Candidate Engineer).
- 0-3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design or site supervision.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and basic engineering design principles.
- Good understanding of construction materials and methods.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
