Senior Metallurgist - Beneficiation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Metallurgist specializing in beneficiation to join their team in Klerksdorp . This critical role focuses on optimizing the processes used to extract valuable minerals from ore, thereby enhancing the economic viability of mining operations. You will lead research and development efforts, implement process improvements, and ensure the efficient and sustainable operation of beneficiation plants. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize all aspects of the mineral beneficiation process, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and leaching.
• Conduct metallurgical test work and pilot plant trials to evaluate new processing technologies and improve existing circuits.
• Analyze process data to identify bottlenecks, improve recovery rates, and reduce operating costs.
• Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to plant operators, supervisors, and the wider technical team.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in metallurgy , with a strong focus on mineral processing and beneficiation.
• Proven track record in process optimization, scale-up, and troubleshooting of complex metallurgical circuits.
• Expertise in various analytical techniques and metallurgical testing equipment .
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage projects effectively in a mining operations environment.
