Civil Project Manager - Eastern Cape Infrastructure

About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned Civil Project Manager to oversee significant infrastructure development projects in the Port Elizabeth area. This hands‑on role requires strong leadership and a proven track record in delivering complex civil engineering projects on time and within budget. You will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to completion, ensuring high standards of quality and safety in the Eastern Cape region. This is a site‑based role demanding active presence and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the execution of various civil engineering projects, including roads, water infrastructure, and buildings.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate and supervise site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure project milestones are met.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies on all project sites.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth project progress.
• Manage risk, resolve site issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil project management, with at least 5 years in a senior capacity.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale infrastructure projects from inception to completion.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, procurement, and financial management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Registration as a professional engineer or professional construction manager is advantageous.
