About the Role
Our client is looking for a meticulous and experienced Aircraft Electrical Technician to join their maintenance team in Richards Bay . This role is essential for maintaining the complex electrical and avionics systems of their aircraft fleet. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a wide range of electrical components, from basic wiring to advanced navigation and communication systems. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical aptitude, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of aviation safety and performance in a collaborative workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and repair aircraft electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, generators, and batteries.
- Install and modify electrical and avionics equipment according to technical drawings and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults using specialized diagnostic equipment and procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on aircraft electrical systems to prevent failures.
- Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and test results accurately in the aircraft logbook.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation safety regulations and company procedures.
Requirements
- Trade qualification as an electrician or avionics technician, preferably with aviation-specific training.
- Proven experience working with aircraft electrical systems and avionics.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and diagnostic tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical theory, AC/DC circuits, and aircraft wiring standards.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
