Field Service Engineer - Industrial Equipment

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Field Service Engineer to provide on-site support for industrial equipment in and around Nelspruit . This role is critical for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and repair of complex machinery utilized by our diverse client base. You will be the primary technical point of contact, responsible for diagnosing issues, performing intricate repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to uphold our client's commitment to operational excellence and reliability in the Mpumalanga region. The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and a dedication to customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of industrial equipment on client sites.
• Perform diagnostic procedures to identify mechanical, electrical, and software-related faults.
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance inspections and service calls to ensure equipment longevity and minimize downtime.
• Provide technical expertise and support to clients, offering solutions and guidance for equipment operation and care.
• Accurately document all service activities, repairs, and findings in the company's service reporting system.
• Collaborate with the engineering and sales teams to address customer needs and provide feedback for product improvement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role servicing industrial machinery.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system knowledge.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach to repairs.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel extensively within the Nelspruit service area.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective client interaction.
