About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Network Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Mahikeng . This is an on-site role focused on ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the company's network systems. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network hardware and software, as well as providing technical support to end-users. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated IT professional to play a key role in supporting the operational needs of the business and contributing to a stable IT environment in the North West province.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to ensure optimal uptime and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures, including VPNs, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning for network systems and data.
- Provide technical support to end-users, resolving network-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference.
Requirements
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar IT support role.
- Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Experience with network hardware from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, HP).
- Familiarity with network security best practices and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
