Aquatics Centre Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and proactive Aquatics Centre Supervisor to manage operations at their popular swimming facility in Nelspruit. This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and efficient functioning of the entire aquatics area, including pools, changing rooms, and surrounding facilities. You will be responsible for supervising lifeguards, enforcing safety regulations, managing daily operations, and ensuring an exceptional experience for all patrons. This position is ideal for an experienced aquatic professional with strong leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and service within a community-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the aquatics centre, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all users.
• Supervise and schedule a team of lifeguards and pool attendants, providing training and performance management.
• Enforce all pool rules and safety regulations, responding effectively to emergencies and administering first aid or CPR as needed.
• Conduct regular checks of pool water quality and chemical levels, ensuring compliance with health standards.
• Manage facility maintenance, cleanliness, and the proper functioning of all aquatic equipment.
• Handle patron inquiries, feedback, and complaints, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Current Lifeguard certification and First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Management certification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in lifeguarding or aquatic facility operations.
• Proven experience in staff supervision and scheduling.
• Strong understanding of pool safety protocols, water chemistry, and emergency procedures.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
