Civil Engineer - Road and Highway Design

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop comprehensive road and highway layouts, including alignment, grading, and intersection design, adhering to national geometric standards.
• Conduct traffic analysis and modeling to optimize road network efficiency and safety features.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and construction bills of quantities for road projects.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Perform site inspections and evaluations, identifying potential design or construction issues and proposing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with environmental consultants and urban planners to integrate sustainable design principles and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering .
• Professional registration with ECSA as a Pr.Eng. or Candidate Engineer with a clear path to registration.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in road and highway design and transportation engineering.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MXRoads, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of materials science for pavement design and construction.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
