Leisure Facility Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Leisure Facility Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the optimal condition and safety of their recreational facilities in Port Elizabeth . This role is critical for maintaining the high standards expected by patrons and staff, managing a team of maintenance personnel, and overseeing all upkeep operations within the Leisure & Sports complex. The successful candidate will be instrumental in providing a safe, clean, and functional environment for all activities, contributing to the overall patron satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including scheduling and task delegation.
• Oversee the inspection, repair, and preventative maintenance of all facility equipment and infrastructure.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, and coordinate procurement.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Implement and maintain operational procedures for cleaning, groundskeeping, and facility upkeep.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities management or maintenance supervision, preferably in a Leisure & Sports context.
• Strong understanding of building systems, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including some weekends, as needed in Port Elizabeth .
