Civil Engineer - Roads & Highways

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Civil Engineer with expertise in roads and highways to join their team in Mahikeng . This position focuses on the planning, design, and project management of critical transportation infrastructure that enhances connectivity and economic growth. You will be involved in all project phases, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to detailed design and construction supervision. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of road and highway infrastructure projects, including alignment, geometric design, and pavement design.
• Conduct traffic studies, capacity analysis, and environmental impact assessments.
• Prepare detailed design reports, construction drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in road and highway engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• Proficiency in road design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MXRoads, or similar.
• Experience with traffic modeling and transport planning principles.
• Strong understanding of pavement design, materials, and construction techniques.
