About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Specialized Transport Driver to manage the movement of unique or oversized cargo, operating primarily around the Mossel Bay area. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, advanced driving techniques, and a deep understanding of logistical challenges associated with non-standard loads. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant transport of sensitive or large items, working closely with planning and support teams. The ideal candidate is experienced in handling specialized equipment and possesses a strong commitment to safety and precision in all operations for our client.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate specialized vehicles and equipment for the transport of oversized or sensitive materials.
• Plan and execute transport routes considering load dimensions, permits, and potential hazards.
• Ensure all loads are properly secured, balanced, and compliant with transport regulations.
• Communicate effectively with escorts, pilot vehicles, and site personnel as required.
• Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and specialized equipment before and after transport.
• Maintain detailed records of transport operations, including route adherence and any incidents.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with relevant endorsements for specialized transport.
• Significant experience in transporting abnormal or oversized loads.
• Thorough knowledge of transport regulations pertaining to specialized cargo.
• Familiarity with the Mossel Bay region and Western Cape transport corridors.
• Proficiency in operating specialized vehicles and securing mechanisms.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
