About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Commercial Contracts Manager to join their legal department in Upington . This role is pivotal in overseeing the company's contract lifecycle management, ensuring all agreements are legally sound, commercially advantageous, and compliant with regulations. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including sales, procurement, and finance, to manage contract negotiations, drafting, and execution. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to operational efficiency and risk mitigation in the growing economic landscape of the Northern Cape, based in Upington .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of commercial contracts , from drafting and negotiation to execution and renewal.
- Develop and implement standardized contract templates and processes to improve efficiency.
- Review and advise on contractual terms and conditions, identifying potential risks and liabilities.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with business objectives and legal requirements.
- Maintain a central repository of all contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Assist in dispute resolution related to contractual matters and support litigation efforts when necessary.
Requirements
- Law degree or equivalent qualification, with a strong emphasis on contract law .
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial contract management, drafting, and negotiation.
- In-depth understanding of South African contract law and relevant business regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and experience with contract management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment and contribute to the legal team in Upington .
