About the Role
Our client is seeking a driven and analytical Investment Banker Associate to join their busy team in Richards Bay . This demanding role involves supporting senior bankers in executing a wide range of financial advisory services, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and corporate restructuring. You will be instrumental in financial modeling, valuation analysis, and the preparation of client-facing materials. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious professional within the banking and finance sector to gain extensive experience in high-stakes transactions and contribute to significant deals in the KwaZulu-Natal region.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sophisticated financial models for valuation, mergers, acquisitions, and LBOs.
- Conduct in-depth industry and company research to support transaction origination and execution.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch books, and confidential information memorandums.
- Assist in the due diligence process for transactions, coordinating with various parties.
- Manage deal execution processes, including coordinating with legal counsel and other advisors.
- Support senior bankers in client relationship management and business development efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field; MBA or CFA is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or private equity.
- Expertise in financial modeling, valuation techniques (DCF, precedent transactions, comparables), and Excel.
- Strong understanding of capital markets and M&A processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
