Ground Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Ground Operations Supervisor to oversee and manage all aspects of ground handling services at their Rustenburg facility. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and punctuality of aircraft ground operations, including baggage handling, aircraft marshalling, passenger boarding, and cargo loading. You will lead a team of ground handling agents, fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, and exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of airport operations and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the daily activities of the ground handling team, ensuring all operational tasks are completed safely and on schedule.
• Monitor aircraft turnaround processes, implementing strategies to optimize efficiency and minimize delays.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and airline-specific ground handling requirements.
• Conduct regular training sessions and performance evaluations for ground staff.
• Manage equipment and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
• Act as a point of contact for airline representatives, addressing operational concerns and ensuring service level agreements are met.

Requirements

• Proven experience in airport ground operations or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong understanding of aircraft ground handling procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in a demanding operational environment.
