Senior Animator - 3D Visuals

About the Role

Our client, a leader in the Arts & Entertainment sector, is seeking a highly talented Senior Animator to join their creative team. This hybrid role, based in Mossel Bay , offers the unique opportunity to bring characters and stories to life through exceptional 3D animation. You will play a key role in our production pipeline, collaborating with directors, artists, and technical staff to deliver high-quality animated sequences for various projects. We are looking for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a passion for storytelling, and the ability to mentor junior animators.

Key Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D character and environmental animations that align with project vision and style guides.
• Collaborate closely with the art and direction team to ensure animations meet artistic and technical requirements.
• Provide animation direction and feedback to junior animators, fostering their development and ensuring quality control.
• Work within established production pipelines and timelines, delivering animation assets efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and solve complex animation challenges, ensuring smooth and believable motion.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in 3D animation software and techniques.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in 3D character animation for film, games, or related entertainment media.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional animation skills, character performance, and timing.
• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, 3ds Max, or similar.
• Solid understanding of animation principles, cinematography, and storytelling.
• Experience with motion capture cleanup and integration is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to receive and provide constructive feedback.
