Industrial Electrician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Industrial Electrician to join their operational team based in Cape Town . In this critical role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within industrial facilities. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of machinery and production lines, contributing directly to the productivity and reliability of our client's operations. This position demands a meticulous approach, adherence to safety protocols, and a strong understanding of industrial electrical principles in a challenging Cape Town environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, and repair industrial electrical equipment, including motors, control panels, power distribution systems, and lighting.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications to perform installations and maintenance tasks.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical faults and malfunctions, implementing effective repair solutions promptly.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure operational reliability and minimize downtime.
• Ensure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Collaborate with engineers and other maintenance personnel to optimize electrical system performance and implement upgrades.

Requirements

• Qualified Industrial Electrician with a relevant trade certificate or N6 qualification.
• Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in an industrial electrical maintenance role.
• Strong knowledge of electrical theory, troubleshooting techniques, and safety procedures.
• Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and motor control systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a physically demanding environment and maintain excellent safety records in Cape Town .
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
