Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of molecular biology techniques, including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction, cloning, and sequencing preparation.
- Develop and optimize new molecular assays and experimental protocols.
- Prepare reagents, solutions, and cell lines required for experiments.
- Conduct experiments independently and troubleshoot technical issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records in an electronic laboratory notebook.
- Assist in data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of results to the research team.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory setting.
- Proficiency in standard molecular biology techniques and instrumentation.
- Experience with gene expression analysis and nucleic acid manipulation is essential.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork in Bloemfontein.
