Senior Site Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and diligent Senior Site Engineer to oversee complex construction projects in Pietermaritzburg . You will be instrumental in ensuring that all construction activities are carried out safely, on time, and within budget. This role demands strong leadership capabilities, a keen eye for detail, and a comprehensive understanding of construction methodologies and regulations. The ideal candidate will contribute significantly to project success by managing resources effectively, coordinating various teams, and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all day-to-day on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate and direct subcontractors, laborers, and vendors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Manage project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and material requisitions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Liaise with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to provide project updates and address any concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a site engineering or supervisory role within the construction industry .
• Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale construction projects.
• In-depth knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and safety regulations .
• Proficiency in project management software and AutoCAD.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
