Remote HR Compliance Specialist

About the Role

Our client is searching for a highly diligent and knowledgeable Remote HR Compliance Specialist to ensure adherence to all relevant labor laws and regulations across their operations. This role is fully remote, requiring strong self-discipline and excellent communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external bodies. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing expert guidance on legal and regulatory matters impacting HR. This is a critical function for the organization, safeguarding its practices and fostering an ethical and compliant work environment for all employees, regardless of location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain HR compliance policies and procedures across all operational areas.
• Monitor changes in labor laws and regulations and advise the organization on necessary adjustments.
• Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with employment laws, company policies, and ethical standards.
• Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries and investigations.
• Provide training and guidance to managers and employees on compliance-related topics.
• Maintain comprehensive records of compliance activities and prepare reports for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in HR compliance, legal, or regulatory affairs.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labor law and related legislation.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance programs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote setting.
