About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join their industrial operations team in Upington, Northern Cape . This role is critical for maintaining the operational efficiency and safety of various mechanical systems and equipment. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on machinery, including pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and other industrial components. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a thorough understanding of industrial maintenance practices. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency repairs on industrial mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, and conveyor systems.


• Conduct preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled, inspecting for wear and potential failures.


• Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate tools and techniques, identifying root causes of problems.


• Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician in an industrial setting.

• Ability to work independently and effectively manage maintenance schedules.


• Good physical condition to handle the demands of industrial maintenance, including working in various environments.
