Production Engineer - Oil & Gas Facilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented Production Engineer to manage and optimize oil and gas production facilities from their base in Centurion . This role focuses on ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound operation of production assets, maximizing hydrocarbon recovery, and minimizing operational costs. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting production issues, implementing new technologies, and collaborating with operations and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of production operations, artificial lift systems, and process engineering within the Oil & Gas sector , contributing to sustained operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze production data from wells and facilities to identify performance trends and issues.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize production rates and recovery factors.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational problems related to artificial lift systems, separation, and processing equipment.
• Conduct field visits to production sites to oversee operations and support field personnel.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare production forecasts, reports, and economic evaluations for proposed production enhancement projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production engineering or operations within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment, and artificial lift methods (e.g., ESPs, gas lift).
• Experience with production optimization software and data analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
