Pediatric Occupational Therapist - Early Years Focus
About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist with a focus on early years development to join their expanding practice in Bloemfontein . This role is crucial in supporting infants, toddlers, and young children with developmental challenges to achieve their full potential in daily activities. You will work with children and their families to develop personalized intervention plans addressing fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for children aged 0-5 years.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address fine motor, gross motor, sensory integration, and self-help skills.
- Provide direct therapy sessions to children, incorporating play-based and activity-based interventions.
- Educate and train parents and caregivers on strategies to support their child's development at home and in the community.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including pediatricians, speech therapists, and educators, to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain detailed progress notes, reports, and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered and licensed with the relevant South African Health Professions Council.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessing and treating developmental delays and disabilities in young children.
- Knowledge of various therapeutic approaches, including sensory integration therapy.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
