Senior Petroleum Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Petroleum Engineer to join their team in Benoni . This role is crucial for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery and managing the technical aspects of oil and gas production operations. You will be responsible for conducting reservoir analyses, evaluating production performance, and recommending strategies to enhance output and maximize asset value. This position offers a significant opportunity to apply advanced engineering principles within the dynamic Oil & Gas industry and contribute to key projects in the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze well performance data, including production rates, pressures, and fluid properties, to assess reservoir conditions.


• Develop and implement strategies for production optimization, artificial lift, and enhanced oil recovery (EOR).


• Conduct economic evaluations of development projects and production enhancement opportunities.


• Collaborate with geologists and reservoir engineers to build integrated reservoir models and development plans.


• Oversee the technical aspects of drilling and completion operations, ensuring alignment with reservoir objectives.


• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.


• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in petroleum engineering , with a focus on production and reservoir management in the Oil & Gas sector .


• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software and production analysis tools.


• Strong understanding of reservoir engineering principles, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.


• Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
