HR Manager - Employee Relations

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned HR Manager with a strong specialization in Employee Relations to join their dynamic team in Sandton . This role is critical for fostering a fair, respectful, and productive workplace by managing complex employee issues, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and developing proactive employee relations strategies. You will work closely with legal counsel, senior management, and HR teams to mitigate risk and promote positive employee engagement. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work within a leading financial hub while enjoying flexibility between office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all aspects of employee relations, including investigations, grievance procedures, and disciplinary actions.
• Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to management and employees on complex ER issues.
• Conduct proactive training for managers on topics such as performance management, harassment prevention, and conflict resolution.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on sensitive employee relations matters and litigation risk mitigation.
• Analyze employee relations trends and recommend strategies to improve the workplace environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Industrial Psychology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in HR, with a significant focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of South African labour law, CCMA processes, and related legislation.
• Proven experience in conducting thorough and impartial investigations.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
