Legal Counsel - Compliance

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Legal Counsel with a specialization in Compliance to join their team in Mossel Bay . This role will be offered under a hybrid work arrangement, providing a blend of office-based and remote working flexibility. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust compliance programs to ensure the company operates ethically and adheres to all relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance programs and policies.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on the company's operations.

• Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend appropriate actions.

Requirements

• Admitted attorney with a minimum of 7 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on compliance.
• Deep understanding of South African regulatory frameworks, including data protection, financial services, or industry-specific regulations.
• Experience in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex legal and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adept at explaining complex issues clearly.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing collaboration and independent work.
