Maintenance Technician - Remote Oversight

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their operational team in Welkom . While this role is primarily on-site, it involves significant interaction with remote monitoring systems and requires the ability to interpret data provided by remote diagnostics. You will be responsible for the hands-on upkeep, repair, and installation of critical machinery and infrastructure, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum operational efficiency. This position is ideal for a skilled technician who is adept at both physical maintenance tasks and understanding technical data relayed through digital channels, contributing to the robust functioning of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on industrial machinery and facility equipment.


• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.


• Conduct preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment longevity and reliability.


• Install new equipment and assist with system upgrades as needed.


• Interpret diagnostic reports and data provided by remote monitoring systems.


• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, parts used, and issues encountered.


• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a similar hands-on technical role.


• Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.


• Familiarity with interpreting data from remote monitoring or diagnostic systems is a plus.


• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.


• Proficiency in using hand and power tools and diagnostic equipment.


• A commitment to safety and quality workmanship.


• Relevant vocational training or certification in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
