Ground Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and organized Ground Operations Supervisor to manage and coordinate all ground handling activities at the airport in Nelspruit . This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and safe turnaround of aircraft, supervising a team of ground staff, and maintaining high service standards. You will be responsible for operational efficiency, team performance, and adherence to safety protocols, playing a key role in the smooth functioning of daily flight operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct ground handling staff, including aircraft loaders, marshals, and ramp agents, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Coordinate aircraft turnaround activities, including baggage handling, cargo loading, fueling, and passenger services, in compliance with schedules.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures, regulations, and company policies in all ground operations.
• Monitor equipment and resource availability, reporting any defects or shortages promptly.
• Conduct regular safety briefings and training sessions for ground crew personnel.
• Liaise with flight crews, air traffic control, and other airport stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in airport ground operations or aviation logistics.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience is essential.
• Strong understanding of aircraft ground handling procedures, safety regulations, and airport operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in using relevant operational software and equipment.
