About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and organized Corporate Paralegal to support their legal team based in George. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the legal department, involving extensive document management, corporate filings, and administrative support. You will work closely with attorneys on various corporate legal matters, assisting in the preparation of legal documents and maintaining corporate records. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking to build a career in a reputable organization within the beautiful setting of the Garden Route.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of corporate documents, including annual returns and board resolutions.
  • Manage and maintain corporate minute books, statutory registers, and other legal records.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in drafting legal correspondence and agreements under attorney supervision.
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, track deadlines, and manage document production for legal matters.
  • Support the legal team with due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
  • Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and other third parties as needed.

Requirements

  • A relevant diploma or certificate in Paralegal Studies or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a paralegal, preferably in a corporate law environment.
  • Proficiency in legal research databases and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in document management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
