About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled IP Network Specialist to join their technical team in Mahikeng . This role operates on a hybrid model, combining on-site responsibilities with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for the design, implementation, configuration, and ongoing management of the company's Internet Protocol (IP) network infrastructure. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our client's IP-based communication systems. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of networking protocols and a proactive approach to maintaining network health and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable IP networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN solutions.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
  • Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect against cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate new technologies and ensure seamless network operations.
  • Provide technical documentation for network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP network administration and engineering.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching, and subnetting.
  • Experience with network security concepts, including firewalls, ACLs, and VPNs.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing network hardware from major vendors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid remote/on-site environment.
