About the Role
Our client, a leading aviation maintenance provider in Johannesburg , is seeking a highly experienced Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with a specialization in Avionics. This critical role involves ensuring the airworthiness and operational readiness of a diverse fleet of aircraft through expert maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of complex avionics systems. Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft avionics systems, including navigation, communication, and flight control systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex avionics faults, utilizing specialized test equipment and diagnostic software.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins to ensure compliance with airworthiness directives.
- Conduct system checks, repairs, and component replacements, ensuring all work meets stringent quality and safety standards.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior avionics engineers and technicians.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records using the company's integrated maintenance system.
Requirements
- A valid Aviation Maintenance Engineer (AME) license with Avionics rating, or equivalent recognized certification.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in aircraft avionics maintenance, with a strong understanding of various aircraft platforms.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing complex avionics systems, including GPS, radios, autopilot, and radar systems.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant aviation regulations and airworthiness standards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical documentation and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a high-pressure environment.
