VoIP Systems Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled VoIP Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their voice communication infrastructure in Mossel Bay . This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation of our Voice over IP systems, including PBX platforms, gateways, and related network components. You will be responsible for system configuration, user support, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to guarantee seamless voice communications for the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in VoIP technologies and a commitment to providing excellent service within the telecoms support environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain the organization's VoIP systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement preventative maintenance measures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve VoIP-related hardware and software problems for end-users and network components.
• Manage user accounts, extensions, and voicemail settings, providing timely support.
• Implement security best practices for VoIP systems to protect against unauthorized access and threats.
• Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for the Mossel Bay team.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing and supporting VoIP systems.
• In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323) and related technologies.
• Experience with PBX platforms (e.g., Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Cisco Call Manager).
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail when working in Western Cape .
