Remote Social Services Facilitator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and resourceful Remote Social Services Facilitator to connect individuals and families with essential support systems, operating entirely from a remote location, with a focus on serving the Stellenbosch, Western Cape area. In this dynamic role, you will leverage digital platforms and communication tools to identify client needs, provide information on available social services, and facilitate access to resources such as housing assistance, counseling, and financial aid. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong understanding of social welfare systems and a passion for helping others navigate complex support structures, all while enjoying the flexibility of a remote work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and provide information and referrals to relevant social services via phone, email, and video conferencing.
• Assist clients in completing applications for various social support programs and benefits.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of local social service providers in the Stellenbosch region.
• Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure equitable access to services.
• Facilitate virtual support groups and information sessions for community members.
• Collaborate with partner organizations and government agencies to streamline service delivery remotely.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• Previous experience in social work, counseling, or community service coordination.
• Proficiency in using digital communication tools, CRM systems, and online research methods.
• Excellent communication, active listening, and empathetic interviewing skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple client cases remotely.
• Familiarity with the social service landscape in the Western Cape.
