About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Employment Law Specialist to join their dedicated legal team based in Benoni . This critical role involves providing expert legal advice on all aspects of employment law, ensuring compliance with labor legislation, and managing employment-related disputes. You will work closely with HR and management to develop and implement fair and effective employment policies and practices. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of South African labor law and have a proven ability to navigate complex employee relations issues. Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal advice on all employment law matters, including hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Draft, review, and update employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with the BCEA, LRA, EEA, and other relevant labor legislation.
- Represent the company in CCMA and Bargaining Council disputes and conciliations.
- Advise on restructuring, retrenchments, and other significant employment changes.
- Conduct investigations into workplace misconduct and provide guidance on appropriate disciplinary measures.
Requirements
- Admitted Attorney of the High Court with a minimum of 6 years of specialized experience in employment law.
- In-depth knowledge of South African labor law and related legislation.
- Proven experience in representing employers in labor disputes and negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach.
- Excellent communication, drafting, and advisory skills.
- Ability to manage a high caseload and prioritize effectively in a demanding environment.
