Distribution Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and results-oriented Distribution Operations Manager to lead their distribution center operations in East London . This crucial role involves managing all inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient inventory management, and optimizing the order fulfillment process. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse and distribution best practices, and a commitment to operational excellence. You will be responsible for leading a team to achieve high levels of productivity, accuracy, and safety within the Eastern Cape distribution network.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the distribution center's operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve order fulfillment accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, security protocols, and company policies within the warehouse.
• Lead, train, and motivate a team of distribution staff, fostering a performance-driven and positive work environment.
• Manage inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Collaborate with transportation and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in distribution center or warehouse management.
• Proven experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control methodologies.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in a distribution environment.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required for managing operations in East London .
• Ability to analyze operational data and implement data-driven improvements.
