About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Urban Designer to lead significant urban development and regeneration projects from their Randburg office. This leadership role demands a profound understanding of urban planning principles, sustainable design strategies, and community engagement. You will be responsible for shaping the future of urban spaces, translating complex challenges into coherent and inspiring design frameworks. We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with public and private sector clients, contributing to creating vibrant and livable cities in Gauteng and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the design of urban master plans and strategies.
• Conduct spatial analysis and feasibility studies for urban development projects.
• Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, and community stakeholders.
• Prepare high-quality design reports, visualizations, and presentations.
• Advise on urban design policy, guidelines, and best practices.
• Mentor junior urban designers and contribute to the firm's thought leadership.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, or Architecture.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in urban design and planning.
• Proven track record in leading complex urban development projects.
• Expertise in GIS, CAD, and graphic design software.
• Strong understanding of urban systems, sustainability, and public realm design.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
