Remote Civil Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and innovative Remote Civil Design Engineer to join their expanding virtual engineering team. This position is critical for contributing to the design and planning phases of various civil infrastructure projects, all managed from a remote setup. You will leverage your technical expertise to develop detailed designs, schematics, and construction documents, working collaboratively with project managers and engineering teams across different locations. Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed civil engineering designs for infrastructure projects, including site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management, and utility designs.
• Utilize CAD and other design software to produce construction drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Collaborate effectively with remote project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines via virtual communication platforms.
• Conduct design reviews, calculations, and analysis to ensure project feasibility, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Research and recommend appropriate materials and construction methods for projects.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure accurate record-keeping for all design activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design, preferably with infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other relevant civil design software is essential.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote work setting.
• Strong understanding of South African civil engineering standards and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective remote collaboration.
