About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the construction sector, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Construction Supervisor to lead operations for a key project in Bloemfontein . This role demands a proactive leader with a strong understanding of site operations, safety protocols, and quality assurance. You will be responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, coordinating trades, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and maintaining a safe working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to take charge of site operations and contribute to the successful completion of significant construction projects within the Free State province, working hands-on to achieve project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise daily construction site activities to ensure work proceeds according to schedule and quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to all health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, tradespeople, and site personnel, ensuring efficient workflow.
- Monitor and control site resources, including materials, equipment, and labor, for optimal utilization.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and architects to resolve site-specific issues and ensure project objectives are met.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and safety records for the project.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in managing different phases of construction projects.
- Solid understanding of construction methods, building techniques , and materials.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
