Process Safety Engineer - Remote

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Process Safety Engineer to bolster their safety initiatives. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your preferred location. You will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating process-related hazards within the oil and gas operations . Your responsibilities will include developing and implementing robust safety management systems, conducting hazard analyses (HAZOP, LOPA), and ensuring compliance with stringent safety regulations. This role is vital for maintaining a safe working environment and protecting assets and the environment, working collaboratively with operations and engineering teams in a virtual capacity to uphold the highest safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) such as HAZOP, HIRA, and LOPA studies.
• Develop and implement Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry best practices.
• Investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to relevant personnel.
• Review designs and modifications to ensure process safety requirements are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety, preferably in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry .
• In-depth knowledge of process safety principles, methodologies, and tools.
• Experience with PHA software and incident investigation techniques.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and standards.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment .
