About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Mechanical Engineer to provide crucial support for their project management initiatives in Soweto . This role focuses on the technical aspects of project execution, ensuring that engineering designs are accurately implemented and that projects meet their objectives regarding scope, quality, and timeline. You will work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and technical teams to bridge the gap between engineering design and on-site realities. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to diverse stakeholders, ensuring successful project delivery within the construction and infrastructure domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for project implementation.
• Provide technical guidance and support to site teams, resolving engineering queries and challenges as they arise.
• Assist project managers in planning, scheduling, and monitoring the progress of mechanical installations.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and project requirements on site.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify that work is performed according to design specifications.
• Document project progress, technical changes, and site issues, contributing to project reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably with exposure to project execution or site support.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Understanding of construction methodologies and project management principles.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaset with different teams.
• Problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail in a site-based environment.
