About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Legal Counsel to join their busy legal team based in Vereeniging . This role requires an individual with a comprehensive understanding of commercial law and a proactive approach to legal risk management. You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, providing legal advice on operational matters, and ensuring the company's adherence to all relevant legislation. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional to contribute significantly to the operational and strategic success of the company within the Gauteng region.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, service level agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Provide timely and practical legal advice to business units on day-to-day operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including consumer protection and employment law.
- Assist in managing litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Conduct legal research and provide analysis on potential legal risks and opportunities.
- Maintain and update legal documentation and corporate records.
Requirements
- Admitted Attorney with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Strong knowledge of South African contract law, commercial law, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a demanding environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality legal work.
