About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and reliable Elderly Care Assistant to provide high-quality care and support to senior residents in Bloemfontein . This role is essential in ensuring the comfort, safety, and well-being of our elderly clients, assisting them with daily living activities and providing companionship. You will be part of a professional team dedicated to promoting dignity and independence for seniors within the Free State community. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help with mobility, transfers, and light household tasks as needed.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor vital signs.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if required.
- Engage clients in social activities, conversation, and light exercises to promote well-being.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' condition or behaviour to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a caregiver or in a similar role supporting the elderly.
- Certification in a relevant caregiving field is an advantage.
- Understanding of geriatric care needs and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a care team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of responsibility.
