About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Auxiliary Worker to support individuals and families in need within the East London area. This hybrid role allows for flexible work arrangements, combining essential fieldwork with remote administrative duties. You will assist professional social workers in delivering services, conducting basic assessments, providing supportive counseling, and connecting clients with community resources. This position is ideal for an individual eager to contribute to social welfare services and gain valuable experience within the Eastern Cape community, working closely with vulnerable populations in East London .
Key Responsibilities
- Assist registered social workers in providing direct services to clients and families.
- Conduct basic needs assessments and gather relevant client information.
- Provide supportive counseling and practical assistance to clients.
- Facilitate access to community resources and services (e.g., food banks, shelters, clinics).
- Maintain accurate case files, records, and reports as required.
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings to discuss client progress.
Requirements
- National Diploma in Social Auxiliary Work from a recognized institution.
- Registered with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) as a Social Auxiliary Worker.
- Some experience in a social welfare or community service environment is preferred.
- Good understanding of social welfare principles and services.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both in the field and remotely.
