Healthcare Architect

Our client is seeking a specialized Healthcare Architect to lead the design and development of state-of-the-art healthcare facilities in Mossel Bay . This role requires a deep understanding of the unique functional, operational, and regulatory requirements specific to hospitals, clinics, and medical centers. You will collaborate closely with healthcare providers, administrators, and technical consultants to create environments that enhance patient care, staff efficiency, and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural design process for new healthcare facilities and the renovation of existing ones.
• Translate complex healthcare operational needs into functional and efficient architectural layouts.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant healthcare regulations, building codes, and accreditation standards (e.g., Council for Health Facilities, SANS codes).
• Collaborate with medical equipment planners, engineers, and clinical staff to integrate specialized systems.
• Develop detailed design documentation, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and specifications tailored for healthcare environments.
• Manage stakeholder consultations and present design proposals to clients and regulatory authorities.

Requirements

• Professional Architect qualification (PrArch).
• Minimum of 8 years of experience, with a significant focus on healthcare architecture.
• Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare planning principles, infection control, and medical workflows.
• Proficiency in Revit and other architectural design software; experience with healthcare-specific modeling tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of the South African healthcare landscape and regulatory framework.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
