Remote Industrial Control Engineer

Our client is seeking a seasoned Remote Industrial Control Engineer to bolster their automation and control systems team, supporting operations remotely for their facilities near Polokwane . This role is critical for optimizing manufacturing processes through the design, implementation, and support of advanced control systems. You will work with state-of-the-art technologies to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety across our client's operations, collaborating with on-site teams and engineers globally. Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial processes.
• Develop and implement automation strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Specify and integrate industrial sensors, actuators, variable speed drives, and other control hardware.
• Conduct root cause analysis for control system failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to identify and implement automation improvements.
• Ensure all control system designs adhere to stringent safety standards (e.g., functional safety) and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Demonstrated expertise in programming major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell Automation) and SCADA/HMI software.
• Strong knowledge of industrial networking, robotics, and variable frequency drives.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong focus on system optimization.
• Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fully remote team environment.
