Pediatric Occupational Therapist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and skilled Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated team in Stellenbosch . You will work with children of all ages to help them develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and working. This role involves assessing children's needs, developing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to improve motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive abilities, and social-emotional development. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy assessments to identify developmental, sensory, motor, and cognitive challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs and goals.
• Provide direct therapy services, utilizing evidence-based techniques and adaptive equipment.
• Educate parents, caregivers, and teachers on strategies to support the child's development at home and school.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, educators, and specialists to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed client records, documenting progress and treatment outcomes.

Requirements

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• Registration with the relevant professional board (e.g., HPCSA).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an OT with a pediatric caseload.
• Strong knowledge of child development, sensory integration, and common pediatric conditions.
• Excellent clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
