About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Civil Foreman to supervise construction activities on various infrastructure projects in and around Soweto . This role is critical for ensuring that construction work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will lead a site team, manage daily operations, and coordinate with project managers and engineers to achieve project milestones. This is a vital field-based position contributing directly to the development and improvement of local infrastructure in the Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct daily site operations and activities of construction crews.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Manage on-site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, for optimal productivity.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers, and subcontractors to resolve site issues and ensure project progress.
• Monitor work quality, inspect ongoing construction, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain site records, including daily reports, attendance, and material usage.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Civil Foreman or in a similar supervisory role on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety procedures for civil engineering projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience in managing construction teams and subcontractors effectively.
• Commitment to safety and quality, with a proactive approach to problem-solving on site in Soweto .
