Senior Petroleum Geologist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Petroleum Geologist to join their remote-first exploration and production team. This pivotal role will focus on identifying and evaluating new exploration opportunities, analyzing geological data, and contributing to the subsurface understanding of prospective areas. You will collaborate closely with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to define drilling targets and support field development activities, all from a remote working setup. Key Responsibilities

• Lead geological interpretations of seismic, well log, and core data to delineate prospects and leads.
• Develop and maintain high-quality geological models and subsurface maps for exploration and development assets.
• Assess geological risks and uncertainties associated with new venture evaluations and existing fields.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of drilling programs , providing real-time geological support.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including geophysicists, reservoir engineers, and management, regardless of physical location.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and share geological knowledge across the organization.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in petroleum exploration and basin analysis.
• Proficiency in geological workstation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, Landmark) and data management.
• Deep understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and sequence stratigraphy .
• Proven track record of successful prospect identification and evaluation.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, particularly in a remote collaboration environment.
